I am a fully qualified Psychotherapist with a Masters in Gestalt Therapy and a Masters of Sexology. I have over 20 years experience in health care, trained both as a Registered Nurse as well as a Chinese Medical pracitioner.
This has provided me with a holistic approach to therapy and a deep understanding of the mind/body connection.
During my years in health care, I became aware that many professionals were uncomfortable or ill-equipped to work with issues around sexuality. For the past 10 years I have been committed to studying and researching the topic of sexuality to support individuals and couples to explores issues related to sexual pleasure, intimacy and eroticism.
My work is strongly influenced by principles of somatic mindfulness as I believe that we need to be fully embodied if we want to fully enjoy sexual and sensual pleasures. I also have a special interest in working with trauma as I beleive that most people have experienced some form of trauma during their developmental or adult years. Both personally and professionally, I have found that a somatic (body-centred) approach therapy to be a profound way of working with trauma, whilst being both safe and supportive.
